The Master Scuba Instructor certification is the highest level of professional certification in recreational scuba diving. It is awarded to instructors who have achieved a significant level of experience, knowledge, and teaching proficiency. As a Master Scuba Instructor, you are qualified to teach and certify students at all levels, including the Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and various specialty courses.
To obtain the Master Scuba Instructor certification, you must first be a certified Open Water Scuba Instructor and have a minimum of 150 logged dives. Additionally, you need to have certified at least 25 students in various scuba diving courses, including specialties. This certification requires a high level of expertise in scuba diving theory, skills, teaching methods, and safety practices.
As a Master Scuba Instructor, you are not only responsible for teaching students but also for mentoring and guiding other scuba diving professionals. You may assist in conducting instructor-level courses, such as the Instructor Development Course (IDC), and provide guidance to aspiring instructors.
