Rescue Diver

Know About Level 4

Level 4

The Rescue Diver certification is an intermediate level certification in scuba diving that focuses on developing skills and knowledge to handle emergency situations and assist other divers in distress. It is an important step towards becoming a more confident and responsible diver.

To obtain the Rescue Diver certification, you must first be certified as an Advanced Open Water Diver and have completed a CPR and First Aid training within the past two years. The Rescue Diver course consists of knowledge development, confined water exercises, and open water scenarios.

During the course, you will learn about recognizing and managing stress in yourself and others, emergency management and equipment, self-rescue techniques, and assisting in various rescue scenarios. You will also practice skills such as underwater search and recovery, assisting a panicked diver, providing rescue breaths, and performing in-water rescue techniques.

The Rescue Diver course emphasizes prevention, self-awareness, and the importance of being a proactive and vigilant diver. It equips you with the skills and knowledge to handle emergency situations both underwater and on the surface, making you a valuable asset to any diving group or team.

It is important to note that while the Rescue Diver certification is a significant achievement, it does not qualify you to teach scuba diving. To become an instructor, further training and certification as an Open Water Scuba Instructor is required.
